I just installed my red sea reefmat 500 last week and it has never automatically advanced. Red Sea support had shipped me a new sensor, as they concluded that the sensor was faulty. So, today I received the new sensor and installed it. But still nothing. Water flows from the top of the reefmat unit. I've checked the position of the sensor more times than I can count. Also verified the positioning of the control unit in the app very often.

This is all very disheartening. I also have that new Red Sea ATO+ that stopped logging temperature about a month ago. And its leak detector detects leaks every day, while there are none. At this pace, I'm unable to trust the rest of the ATO unit, which is the ATO sensor itself. Meanwhile, Red Sea product support stopped answering me wednesday last week. I think they just don't have a solution.

Try checking if the orientation is correct (left vs right) in the configuration. If not it would advance backward. Is the top LED flashing?

I have the drive on the right, also in the app. The top led is not flashing.

I also tried using the scheduled advance feature. But it just ignores the time that I set it at without advancing.

So weird, yeah I suppose the only thing it could be is the sensor. I'm assuming manual advance is fine. Does it have any issues when you manually advance where it seems to struggle and is sort of jammed? I'm reaching at this point.

I struggled with mine too, my unit refuses to connect to the cloud despite logging into my 2.4ghz wifi network, so I have to use local connect instead. So yeah, had my own issues.

I must say, Red Sea product support is HORRIBLE! They seem to have no solution, so they just stopped replying. My last reminder was two weeks ago. Meanwhile I'm stuck with expensive non-functioning equipment of theirs.

Snap a picture. So we can see how the sensor is mounted. I had same issue and when I switched it around it worked and had flawlessly.
