I am trying to clean my Reefwave 45's. I've taken everything apart to the point where I'm supposed to push the green side of the shaft to dislodge the plastic cap/collar on the red side from the motor housing. It seems like no matter how hard I push, the collar won't come out. I don't want to push any harder and end up breaking the shaft. Am I missing something?

I am having the same problem with both of my Reefwaves. They aren't covered in crust or anything.

Hmm I'm not sure. Does reefwave have a support email? Just whatever you do don't push too hard because if the shaft breaks it will not be good.

Yeah. I gave up and just soaked it in citric acid with the shaft still in the motor housing. I'll try again next time to fully disassemble it.

I watched like 4 or 5 different videos and they made it look easy, but I was putting a lot of force on the shaft and the cap wasn't budging.
