Thinking about a S 550 G3 tank, can anyone give me feedback about this size tank and problems with the S series. Thanks

Hello, you will get a lot of folks pushing back against Red Sea tanks and even the G3.... For good reason,

If you search Red Sea tanks on here you will quickly see the issue.

I would recommend just about any other brand.
Thanks however do you know if the S series has had issues since they are euro braced both top and bottom

We just heard of the first failure on this forum last week.

Not sure if @UncommonSense received the photos but I couldn't trust red sea to make a coffee cup.

The euro brace wasnt really the issue and time and time we see it's the type of silicone they've been using.

No photos as of yet…

Though, even if the silicone
/general seam issues were fixed, I wouldn’t touch them with a 10ft pole after the ways RS has historically treated its customers in these situations…

With so many good brands of tanks in the market today, i wouldn't touch Red Sea tank with a 10 foot pole. Especially when the risk is catastrophic failure that can destroy your tank and your house. Also, the way they dealt with the issue is also very telling. To date, Red Sea has not properly taken ownership of the issue and compensated their customers. I have fully stopped using almost anything Red Sea.
