COMMON NAME - Russell's Lionfish (Spotless Lionfish, Red Volitans Lionfish, Soldier Lionfish, Plaintail Firefish, Largetail Turkeyfish, Military Turkeyfish)
SIZE - 11.8" (30 cm)
MIN. AQUARIUM SIZE - 55 US gal. (208 L)
FOODS AND FEEDING - Meaty foods, marine fish, crustacean flesh, live Grass shrimp, feeder fish, marine fare live and frozen for carnivores. Feed 3-4 times a week.
REEF COMPATIBILITY - Will eat shrimp and smaller fishes.
CAPTIVE CARE - Spends much if its time in full view. Can't be trained to eat pieces of fresh seafood, live prey may be needed to at first. Not typically aggressive towards other fish, with the exception of other Lionfish, deep water and shallow reef tanks are acceptable environments for the fish. CAUTION - THIS FISH IS VENOMOUS.
