Redsea part 4?

So I am new in the reefing hobby. I have purchased the redsea part 4 supplement program but I really don’t understand the no refugium theory behind it. If anyone knows why please help me out.

When I set up my sump originally before purchasing the part4 supplement program I setup a small refugium in which would initially be my bubble catcher chamber in my sump but now is my refugium which holds some beneficial bacteria and my chateo. I was thinking of removing it to run the 4part program but not sure if that’s smart or not. Need help and input.

Have never used the stuff but I believe the idea is they have you test either calcium or alk and you just proportionally dose the 4 part off of that correct?

If that’s the case, they are basing this off of coral consumption of whatever elements they’ve determined the corals are using. The problem with the fuge is the macro pulls different elements at different rates and in different proportions vs coral

Wonder if you could use Brightwells chaeto grow to make up whatever imbalances you’d develop?
