It’s finally here. My upgrade to a 650 Peninsula. As some may know, this thing is drop shipped on an extended palet and weighs almost 1000lbs. Needless to say it was difficult maneuvering it all off the stand, but I was determined. I left work early today to come home and take delivery of this behemoth.

Assembly of the stand took me just under 3 hours.

I bought a furniture dolly and wheeled it into its new space between the hallway to the stairs and the family room. At almost 9pm, I refused to give into the messages of exhaustion my body was giving me since it’s been an 18 hour day.

So I kept going. I put the sump and the skimmer in and wired some under cabinet LED lights when maintenance time calls.

Being almost 11pm here in Florida, I’m calling it a night. Tomorrow brings an update on my XR30 G4 Pros with ceiling mounts and twin MP40’s. Have lots of goodies (hardware) going in this since I took the next four days off work to build this sucker. All my gear is in the kitchen driving the wife nuts.

Stay tuned and to all a good night!

Started off this morning at 8:30am with the stand in place. I read on here somewhere that you can two man this tank. Uhm, no way. It’s over 400 lbs and your lifting it 40” off the ground. It was difficult with the three of us.

Anyways. Got the tank up and plumbed. Hooked up the MP40’s, hung the light and started running all the wires. As you can see below, the wire job looks terrible but I’ll deal with that later. Continued on and plumbed the skimmer to suck outside air since my house is airtight. The 40 I have now wouldn’t get above 7.6 without that fresh air hooked up to my current skimmer. I actually found a mini K&N air filter that I put on the intake line outside to avoid critters sneaking in.

I have a Radion XR15 G4 Pro that I will be adding to this tank in the middle. It’s on my nano now and when that’s broken down I’ll move it over. For now though, it’s two G4 XR30 Pros.

Just wanted to share. I’ve been doing this solo and going at it 12 hours today. I’m done for the night.

More to come tomorrow. :)

Congrats and nice work! You already much faster than me at setting this bad boy up. I'm still working on mine. I hit a roadblock or should I say babyblock. Newborn is keeping me busy. Haha..here's where my current tank status is..i had it since January!

Got the rock work done today. The rest of the rocks from my 40 gallon will go towards the front once this Tank is cycled. As you can see, the salt is in and I’ve started the long slow process of filling the tank. My five stage RODI is pushing out about 200 gallons per day at 80 psi.

It will be filled by tomorrow with the cycle started. I bought some Dr. Tim’s ammonia to start my fishless cycle.

Anyway, just a brief update to anyone that’s interested. I will post the final product tomorrow.
