Hi, I just got a Reefer XL 425, but was just the tank and stand no plumbing, besides buying the plumbing from redsea which is very pricey, I would like to kknow if I can plumb it with standard PVC, but I'm not sure because they use threaded pipes inside the overflow. Any help would be great...

What I'm looking for are the following:

1 - Pipe thickness 3/4" or 1"
2 - How long is each piece seems it has 3 holes for pipes... what is what ...

What you see obstructed is the cabinet need to move tank forward a bit.. lol

Thank you for any help... Below Picture is inside the overflow box

I started wondering and pricing out the plumbing and decided mod it to standard 1"... With a drum sander attachment for my drill i kinda bored out the current plumbing hole. I opened it for a 1" bulk head, once you open it the inside lip comes right off so you have a flat surface for the bulkhead.
To be honest the inside plumbing kit with metric to standard adapters was costing me 325.00, a 4 pack of 1" bulkheads cost me 15.00 bucks huge difference.

Here are some pictures I took...

No the lip inside when sanding the hole was so thin it pilled right off... See picture... With a 1" drum sander on the drill took me 45 minutes slowly to bore out all that stuff.

I think bulkheads is the way to go, is super simple, took me no more than 45 minutes to do all 3 if that, and if you still have a little lip, bring it down with a dremel. softly.

I did not remove anything, the plastic plate is still in place all I did with a 1” drum sander put it on my drill and opened the hole to fit my bulkhead you see in picture… the inside plate is still there, when you open the hole the inside plate has a lip that will come off when opening hole gets really thin as pictures above.

The bulkhead you see are my news one if not the three holes will look like the one in the left.

Yes, I’m thinking of it… I might just use a piece of hose for the return depending where it lands
