I recently installed a reefmat 1200 into my system. My question is about water changes. When the water level in my sump rises from shutting off the return pump, will the sensor be ok submerged in water for a bit, or should i take it out?

There are contacts on both sides and when water hits both, there is no auto advance. I also wipe/ clean the sensors about once a month.
