I shared another post where I nuked my WB Reef 100.3 with hummingbird water and made the decision to start over from scratch. Figured I’d give a build thread a shot. I’m no experienced reefer and I’m applying what I’ve learned through my mistakes and successes.

If there is one piece of advice for anyone starting out in this hobby is…patience. Patience is my mantra this go around. Everything has been and will continue to be well thought out and planned, from future equipment to my live stock, where to place my corals, water flow… everything. And nothing will be rushed and purchased on impulse. Ok, maybe a frag here and there will be impulse purchases. Can’t take ALL the fun out of this!

We relocated the tank from my kitchen to my family room. It had been in my kitchen because the reasoning was we spent most of our time there and weren’t using the family room. Family room was unfurnished and basically an empty boring space. Now it’s the best spot in the house!

Below is my equipment and materials list. I’m using the same equipment from before but actually took the time to learn how to set everything properly for my best chance of success.

Pump: Reef Octopus VarioS-6
Lights: AI Hydra HD 26s (will upgrade later this year)
Circulation: AI Nero 5s
Skimmer: Reef Octopus essence 130
ATO: Tunze Osmolator 5017
Filter (roller): Klir Di-4 and filter floss
Heaters: Cobalt Neotherms (probably going to change)

CaribSea LifeRock
Caribsea Arag-Alive Fiji Pink
Cycling with Polyp lab Genesis and Genesis Rock
Chemi-pure Blue (post cycle)

Enough with the words. Photo dump time!
