A bit on the fringe, if you ask me.
This comment, for example:
"It has often puzzled me how we have long accepted that the chart of known elements can easily organised into ‘groups and ‘periods’ yet not continue to question the ‘process’ by which these elements became organized and why the groups have similar chemical properties."
Suggests he doesn't understand why the periodic table is as it is. It is not based on properties. It is based on electron configuration. They fact that properties flow from it is only a fortunate byproduct.
