what products to you keep at home in your reef first aid kit? i’m talking Aiptasia killers, fireworm destroyers, medicine for a sick fish in QT, etc.

trying to build a collection of good products that could save my ecosystem, in a moments notice.

i am extremely new to the hobby and am aware that at some point it is inevitable, but i am terrified to lose a fish, or coral in the future. Tank is only 35 days old (just being precautious)

I don't know why I have never heard of this, but I am following along to see what others say! Great idea.

CoralRx and Bayer (from HD or Lowes) for use on corals before going into QT

Are you planning to QT fish?

i incorrectly washed my filter the other day and thankfully had Microbacter7 on hand to fix the issue i stupidly created asap…. it got me thinking, my tank would have crashed if i had to wait for my LFS to open the next day

Praziquantel
Coppersafe or copper power

I also keep in my sump bio bricks that I can add to my QT. The bricks never go back into my main sump.

Whenever I receive coral frags I remove the coral plugs before dipping in CoralRx and Bayer. Pests can hide between the frag and coral... and survive the dips

I found CoralRx and Praziquantel essential for my setup, as they really help with pests and sick fish concerns. Additionally, consider a training course, like what you can find at https://brity.co.uk/first-aid-courses/newcastle. It helped me a lot with handling emergencies more confidently. Also, quarantine practices have been crucial for maintaining a healthy tank environment.

I never really thought about it this way, but I keep a lot of stuff on hand "just in case". I always have at least 40 gallons of RODI water in the garage. I try to keep 5 gallons or so of saltwater mixed up. I also keep some KCl and an iodine dip for corals that may need it or any new corals that find their way to my house. I always have some F-Aiptasia on hand too. There is a bottle of FluxRX, Flatworm Exit, as well as ChemiClean too. I also make sure that I have plenty of Hanna reagents on hand so that I can test what I need to when the situation comes up.

What issue did washing your filter create that microbactor 7 saved and prevented a tank crash?
