I found a Reef keeper lite in the misc. used parts bin at my LFS. They want $18 for the brain and a single 4 outlet power switch. Is this worth getting and maybe collecting other modules through the forum.

I currently have a fairly new 75 gallon tank using left over Wi-Fi smart switches for the lights and the controller an icecap 3k gyre came with. I would really like to have the temperature and ph, maybe salinity monitoring, and this seems to be more in the budget than a $400 used apex. Even if I have to buy more modules used.

For that price. Yesss. Absolutely. It will never be a apex but you cant even buy a set of timers for $18. So right there your making out. The probs are compatible with brs probs so i think its a win. I used one for years until i broke down and bought a apex. Good luck

Thank you @jtietz
So right now it is basically just a timer? I have my fuge light, and main lights on Wi-Fi switches (acting like timers) right now, so not sure I really need a timer. But maybe the other pieces will turn up on here sometime.

Right how it is a glorified timer with the ability to monitor temp. But say if you had a fan or chiller, if the temp rises it will turn on a cooling divice and turn off lights to help regulate temp. If you want to monitor ph or salinity you will need a sl1 or sl2 module. The difference is that the sl2 can also monitor orp. They pop up all the time on ebay.

The SL1 was replaced with the SLX module. The SL1 and SLX can monitor ORP. The SL2 is Salinity instead of ORP. Also the SLX can use a second pH instead ORP if needed.
