Reef Octopus classic 110 skimmer issue.

Need somefeedback on this issue, the skimmer works great but it continues to push air out of the vent holes in the lid. To the point where skimmate is accumulating on the lid. How can i prevent this??

You can increase the vent hole diameter to help somewhat!

Does this cup have a drain fitting or is it manual drain only? Mine came with two cups, both have drain fittings; this hasn’t been an issue for me so far!

You have to keep the collection cup empty lol. I have this problem on all of my skimmers once the cup fills up......looks like yours is filled?

The cup’s just dirty! lol closely; there’s less than an inch of skimmate in there!

Agree with a good cleaning. With skimmate on the sides and tops, the skim collects on itself and doesn't fall down to the bottom of the collection cup

Running too lean.
Increase bubble height a hair, till she falls.

You can also install a float switch, but A others mentioned needs to be cleaned first

Hey guys, the cup was basically empty. I have cleaned it out completely multiple times but the skimate continues to rise up out the lid. I have used multiple skimmers in the past and this is the first one to have this issue.

I have the same skimmer but haven't used it in a few years. What's up with the valve on the intake

I added that air line valve because I read that reducing the airflow could help with collection cup overflowing issue.
