IMO, a retro fit for CV DC skimmer pumps already on the market will be a must have, hopefully that'll be an available option. Really liking the controller interface, most system skim more with the lights out and less with the lights on; being able to counter that should make for optimum skimming and avoid the pit falls of stagnated water by keeping the skimmer off to try an achieve the same manually.

I've been looking to purchase one for about a month. I can't find anyone who has the 36xl in stock. I am being told it's on backorder until august.

The link you linked is for the 36, not the 36xl. They do not have the 36xl in stock. Fragtastic responded back they will not have for at least 3 months. Coralvue has not responded back yet.
