Many websites state that the Reef Octopus Classic 110INT skimmer can take the Reef Octopus VarioS S2 is a replacement pump. I want the smaller 4" body, but I also want a DC2 skimmer for adjustability, I bought both parts to combine before the 1st use. I planned to use that comb on a Rea Sea Reefer 170, also a S2 return pump connected to an Apex.

The VarioS S2 didn't come with an adapter that will mate up with the skimmer.

Does anyone know what part I need to connect the VariouS 2S to a Classic 110INT?

Also, could these two be connected with a soft connection (flexible tubing)?

This is going inside (I'm trying anyway) a Fiji cube 12 2nd gen advanced sump.

Thanks for reading my post.

Have an awesome night.

Reef Octopus 110 INT with Varios2

I have this up and running. It's silent with enough power that I have it on setting 1 of 5. It sucks so much air that I put a valve on the intake so I could tune it down a bit.

When you put these two together there is a height mismatch, the best option that I found was to: Omit the Varios 2 pump stand, and I made a 1" stand for the skimmer bottom only, with this the pump can rest almost straight up and seems to balance well.

If you have a larger sump maybe you can come up with a better config. I stuffed this in a Fiji Cube 12 advanced sump 2nd gen.
