Reef Pi vs Others

For those who have Reef Pi controllers and those who have other types of controllers, what is your experience?

Im looking to eventually get some sort of controller and was wondering what the consensus is on various different brands and methods. I'm not afraid of having to program things or learn how to do something, in fact I enjoy it.

I have a brand new reef pi controller along with a reef angel 8 plug power strip.I bought it a few years ago but never used it. not sure controllers are my thing.

If you're comfortable with high school level DIY electronics, the robo-tank kit has been good to me over the last 4 years. The kits @robsworld78 puts together are perfect for anyone who wants to tinker with things, but also have a reliable platform. If i won the lottery, i'd probably give Hydros a shot, but those controllers are way over engineered and would cost 10x.

Glad to hear things are going well with the controller, it's come a long ways since you bought it, a lot less DIY is involved now but for those who like DIY it's still customizable.
