What would you use to coat a neodymium magnet to make it safe for under water use

I wonder if aquarium safe silicone could be heated up so its liquefied, then dip the magnet, let cure, and repeat the process a few times...

Any oxidants on the surface of the magnet will react and create tiny rust spots. The silicone will prevent any new oxidizing molecules from entering and stall the oxidation/rusting.

I used polyester casting resin and I used a dye in the resin.

I get them already plastic coated from www.kjmagnetics.com Some are over 5 years old with no sign of problems. Way easier than DIY and probably the same or similar price

I know this is an old thread but can someone post and updated link with the exact magnets that they have used with success? Just want to make sure I get the correct ones. specifically from kjmagnetics. Looking to make a diy shroom box so nothing crazy big or heavy. Black or white color

The black epoxy coated ones work well, if you can keep them from ever being scratched.
I encapsulate then in PETG, which protects the epoxy coating.

they have them in black, white, red, blue and maybe yellow. From their home page you can buy pretty much any size/shape/strength you need.

I have used dozen of them over the years without any troubles at all. I've probably got 20 of them stuck to an I beam in my workshop right now

Id guess, as strong as they are, that they help protect the tank from the impact of the two sides coming together with the glass in between
