It is.... Probably, look at data sheet...

But, no reason not to be safe, you can expect higher alk, and/or ph during leaching period...

Not sure what u want to do with it, what quantity are u gonna use, but with proper soaking in ro, or, in empty tank.... Safe as anything....

Well, for home made rock, i would stick to proven stuff - white portland.....

I used similar cement for joining rock, all went good, but that is small quantity comparing to whole rock made from cement....

But, soak it long enough and i think it will be ok...

Thanks I just had some of that laying around the house thought I may try it and just to experiment. And does it matter what kind of sand you put in the tub can I just use river sand or something like that or should I buy clean sand thank you for your help I'm talking about the sand for the mold not to mix with the concrete

Will the rock be porous enough for your live bacteria to live and multiply? Something to consider I think.

interesting idea, but trying to make your own rock from scratch seems really frustrating. Especially getting all the holes and things through it, and the natural shapes, never mind the porosity issue. Are you not able to get even dry rock at all?

Real ocean rock I have in my tank when I direct a stream of water with a small hose touching the rock I get several streams of detritus coming out of other areas of the rock. Some streams as far away as 3-5 inches.
