Reef Savvy Build!

Scape came out pretty neat! Went for a minimalistic structure, test frags are still alive so that’s good news.

Time for an update! Tank is cruising along.
Setup my ATO finally and my C02 scrubber, bumped my PH to 8.0 from 7.8!

Here’s some pictures!

Will post some more photos under whites tonight. Considering a small UV but I’ve already plumbed. Anyone use those new IceCap UV in sump ones?

I did a good bit of research on these a few months back… long story short; the built-in pump is oddly undersized for the UV… it should theoretically work well for Dinos at roughly double the factory flow rate!

This, and the fact that it just recirculates in the sump make it fairly inefficient! (I was considering swapping the feed pump for plumbing to remote mount a larger pump in a different sump chamber)

UV units designed to be remotely plumbed, vs. dropped into the sump will tend towards a higher sterilizing efficiency, just because they can be plumbed in such a way that they aren’t recirculating any % of just-sterilized water! (This could be installing the UV on the return plumbing, installing the UV with inlet from an upstream sump chamber/outlet to downstream sump chamber, etc!)

Transferred most of coral from the nano, added some acros! The PC Rainbow hasn’t shown any polpy extension but the rest seem happy for the time being.
