Had sushi and a seaweed salad for dinner tonight.......which got me wondering.

Are there macro algaes we can grow and harvest...rather then just grown and toss out.
That grow well in your standard reef/refugium situation. Know a lot of the commonly eaten seaweeds are deep water and huge!

I asked gulf coast ecosystems...got this back

Breanna,

You can grow ulva and gracilaria in an aquarium fairly easily if there are
enough nutrients to feed to the system. These are both edible varieties,
however the growth in a small system may only provide a few meals a month.
One of our customers in Austin, Tx purchases product from us and does eat
of few species as well.

Not sure how fresh sea weed tastes like but those green hairy algae won't taste good cause they smell. I tried the bubble algae before and it was very salty :)
The Chaeto match the profile :-)
