Bought a used Nano Max XXL G2. It came with of course red sea lights and the red sea ato+. I cannot get this stuff to connect. Is phone the issue? Ive swapped to the 2.4ghz wifi signal at my house still nothing. I get al the way to that point and the lights and ato time out. Im standing over my router with both so its not a distance thing. Ready to throw in the towel. But I need the lights and want the ato. I have a amazon ato for now but would love to have the red sea ato working for well redundancy.

Have you physically reset the actual light? There is a button sequence you push and it erases prior settings and wifi. If its still linked to their wifi that would be why. If you google how to reset red sea lights it will tell you how long to press the button for

I have not looked at a video just held the button. So if there's a sequence that may be my issue. Thanks will look into it now.

Have you disassembled it and put it back together??

Not familiar with what you're doing, but assume if the device has never connected to your home wifi network you need to connect to the devices local wifi and then you will get prompted to select your wifi network and input the password to that there. Let me know if this helps!

Did you ever get this sorted? I’ve tried every device we own, and the app keeps failing the connection between the light and my network.

I'm having the same issue with my XXL. I don't really know what I did differently when I got the ReefLeds to work, but I can't get the ReefATO+ to connect. It'll go through updating firmware and a couple more steps, then I get "Unknown error occurred." I've reduced the security, turned off 5GHz, rebooted everything, forgotten the ATO's network, reinstalled apps, reset password, etc. I'm emailing back and forth with Bailey at Red Sea, and he/she is just reading the same script I had already tried before contacting them. I've tried connecting on multiple devices, Android phone and tablet and iPad, all new models completely up to date. For what this thing cost, I can't believe the skimping they've done on obviously cheap chips and poor support.
