Hey.

I’ve been using a Redsea reef dose 2 and have one head dosing AFR throughout the day. I am having a problem with the out tube popping off of the doser head and then it continuing to dose AFR into my tank cabinet.

My theory is that the AFR dries and then clogs the end of the tube and it pops off from the head due to pressure.

Does anyone have any ideas or thoughts on avoiding this? I put a zip tie around the tubing where it connects to the dosing head. I guess we will see if the extra support helps. Maybe there is a stronger tube option than the Redsea color tubing they sell?

It may be dry and crusty at the end that the dose comes out of, sounds like the tube does not have a tight fit. You can try trimming about a half inch off the tube where its popping off and reinstall it.

Yeah I cut the end off and reapplied and it still popped off 🤷‍♂️

Never had mine pop off my reefdose adding AFR off but I never let it clog. I used to reach in every few days and rub the end of the tube between my finger and thumb to remove the crusty build up. Then I read about using the ATO tube to keep it clear.
This is what I came up with. Haven't cleaned the tube in over a year. The red tube is AFR blue ATO. Section of clear tubing with a slit in the side for the AFR tube then the ATO tube in the top. Every time the ATO comes on it cleans the AFR tube. If yours is popping off I would remove it and see if you can blow through it. If it's plugged you might be able to clean it but I would just replace it.

This is genius and exactly why I posted here. I will definitely try this.
Thanks!
