Thank you, I can't wait to add the 100mm to my kit.

Sometimes I shoot in AV but I try to shoot in manual and I've been using the 50mm F/1.8 (nifty fifty), I'm getting decent shots but when I raise my shutter speed to get clean pics of the fish/shrimps, there's not enough light to get a good pic.

Glad to hear haha. When you raise your shutter speed, lower your f stop. If it’s still too dark raise your iso to 400. See how it goes but you definitely want to shoot in manual and raw pictures. If things come out a little dark but you love the photo. Download Lightroom on your iPhone/smartphone and play with exposure. You’ll be able to edit more than you think and get the photo you hopefully desire. Just don’t go overboard that it’s a misrepresentation haha

Great photo skills @Denisk
And amazing tank so far.

Wishing you an easy and fast recovery.
Well not too fast if you have a lot of work with the tank. LOL

Do any of you who have the reefer series feel like they have to adjust their overflow a lot? I feel as if one moment it’s silent and then randomly gurgling. If I adjust it seems good for a week and than once again the gurgle return on the second overflow/emergency pipe.

Anyone else have this happen?

I believe that is a common issue with the reefers.
There is a thread about them in the sponsor section of the forum where someone will have a solution for it.
I had a reefer before and had the same issue. Turned out that the minimum change in return flow was affecting the overflow and noise.

Ahh I see! Thank you, I’ll check it out and see if there is something someone wrote that may help me. If not, it doesn’t really bother me but of course dead silent is much better haha.

Decided to check my parameters. I haven’t been checking much since I barely have any sps but I was fairly surprised.

Time - 12:30pm

1.026
Ca - 370ppm
KH - 7.3 dkh
Mg- 1390
Nitrate 2-5ppm
P04 - .06 ppm

Shocked to see Ca and Kh drop so much as I only have a few sps. But I ended up adding some Ca and Kh.

Added 300ml of calcium chloride
Added 40ml of soda ash.

Will check parameters a little later on today.

Checked calcium and alk today at 9:00am. Looks like it dropped a little again.

Ca - 420ppm or so.

All - 7.7

I would say I’ve got around 80 gallons of volume subracting all the rock/sand. So I decided to start with 10ml of two part and we will see how consumption is over the next few days.

A couple sps I picked up yesterday which was awesome. Downfall is I lost my anthias yesterday and today my second one isn’t doing to well. Looked like some sort of bacterial infection but at least all my other fish look good/unaffected.

This green monti cap comes from the national aquarium so it has some really cool history.
