Got the new lights installed and the co2 scrubber. Currently finishing a 3 day blackout will post photos at 12pm when it lifts.
Switching from RL90's to rapid led coronas.

Dinos subsided tremendously after blackout and corals are loving the new lights. Currently temp is 82°F and PH is 8.2 thinking about leaving it all this way after dino completely gone.

Another big upgraid in the works. Switching from Apex to GHL. And from RSK 600 to a reef octopus regal. Just waiting for the skimmer, ghl doser, and the cabinet all the electeoniscs is going to go in to come in.

How’s the filter roller working? I’ve been wanting 2 for my xl300. Just haven’t been able to find an insert for that particular sump. Where did you find yours?

I took measurements and made one on a 3d printer. Then siliconed it in place. Its not perfect, but gets the job done.
As far as how its doing. Paired with a blackout it pulled all of my free floating Dinos out of the tank. Now just dealing with the large celled that stick to the sand, rocks, and dont become free swimming.
If you go to thingiverse they might have a filter roller insert that is compatible with your sump. Then its just a matter of finding someone who can print it (unless you have a printer).

Any particular reason you didn't loke the gyre? Any mods you would definately do again? I am also building a RSR350 in the Tampa area.

The gyre even on the lowest setting was blowing sand around the tank. The fish were always hiding due to the current. Im sure that if my tank had more grown out coral then it would have been fine, but i will stick to the vortex now. More controllable to my needs.
For mods, if i did it all over again i would have removed the dang filter sock chaimber and hard plumbed a fleece roller into it before i ever put water in the tank, rather than the Klir drop in filter after the fact. Also skip the red sea lights. RL90 are really really really blue. They work, just always looks like dusk. Definitely better lights out there for the money. I would also start with the GHL controller instead of the Apex. Apex was good (aside from the salinity probe), GHL is just better for me. Both will control the system apex is more simple and intuitive, GHL more powerful but comlex. Basically Apex=Apple, GHL=Windows.
Lastly if i had thought about it when first setting up the tank I would have done the external cabinet, while i was assembling the tank.
