Hey All,

Just curious if anyone on here is from Burlington, VT area or upstate NY (north of Albany)? Used to be a place I believe called Milton Mini Reef in Milton, VT run by a gentlemen named Bruce and his wife Trudy. Great people who really got me into reefing. They had a great store with amazing selection, really the only place that was within hours of driving.

Anyways, they closed up many years ago to my knowledge, but wasn't sure if they perhaps moved or got back into it. On a side note, is there any LFS near you that is worth a trip? Looking for something to do on a weekend... couple hours of driving isn't too bad.

I'm down in Brandon, VT, south of Middlebury.

I'm not sure what happened to Milton Mini Reef. They were a great store and our local reef club at the time met there quite a bit.

There is the Pet Advantage on Dorset St in South Burlington, take the Rt 2 exit off of 89. They have been under new ownership for a few years and I think most of the old staff left. They occasionally have a decent frag or two. Most of their coral tanks are overrun by palys. I actually did buy some decent paly/zoa frags the other day, magicians, red people eaters and a pink zoa frag, prices were all under $30 for 8 polyp frags. They also have lizards, spiders and bunnies, plus dry goods for all pets.

The better store is Green Mountain Corals in Waterbury, VT, north on Ben and Jerry's on Rt 100. Matt Spaulding is the owner, it is basically the bottom of his house I think, converted into all saltwater. he has some really nice stuff and a great selection, he get WWC corals. He doesn't have much for dry goods.

I think that is it, not much in the mid to southern region, better to go down to Massachusetts.

Thanks, I was at pet advantage last week. Didnt see anything of interest. Tanks looked kind of deprived of attention and dirty. Maybe bad timing.

I did not know about the spot in Waterbury. Is it by appointment or he is open to public?

That is pretty much the way the Pet Advantage is now with their salt displays. I don't think the current owners are really big on saltwater, I think the serious reefers in the area go to Green Mountain.

Green Mountain Corals has a Facebook page with business hours, I think he is closed Mondays and Tuesdays. I've only been there once and drove by another time and they were open, I would call maybe that day just in case. I think he does tank maintenance and when I stopped in, his GF/wife was there, but he happened to come back from a trip.
