so, DA was able to provide the model number of the display. now I just need to find it and then remove the existing one and then I am half way there. LOL

I have no idea if this is Newhaven's RGB 64 x 128 match to the Displaytech s64128j-rgb, but HERE's Newhaven's closest thing that I could quickly find. Again, I'd shoot them an email and ask if this is the equivalent......by the way, $22.

EDIT TO ADD:

On Mouser, THIS Displaytech sceen is listed as "Obsolete." I'd also shoot them an email because they carry other Displaytech screens that might just fit.

thanks. I have been going back and forth with Newhaven over the past couple days. finally got the exact part number over to them today so will see what they have that will match. if not, I requested the pinout from DA and with that hopefully Newhaven can match on that. fingers crossed. Oh and I still need to unsolder the old pins which is causing me to do a lot of cursing and my dog is giving me the tilted head look a lot.

there is a "K" model which looks very similar and is in stock. $22 is way better than $150.

I will try when I get home in two weeks to see if I can get it off. Have you figured out a replacement screen ?

That and the wicking braid. Can't even get the solder to melt.

Add solder to the braid when it's against the pin. Always add some solder to remove more, or else the parts don't heat well.

Or just cut out the screen pins, allowing you to remove them one by one.

nope, and after some more questions to displaytech turns out there is no exact replacement for the old display. back to square 1.

That begs the question then. What screen are DA using for this product. If they are not making them anymore and we can buy them. How are they still making them ? What screen have they gone too ???

are they still making them? I would have to assume production ended on them when the archon came out. or they have a secret stash that was acquired prior to the display going end of life.
