I have a Reeflo Dart Hybrid that has been up and running for about a year. How long do these pumps usually last and should I have a backup just in case this pump should fail? In general, how long do external pumps usually last?

That's a good question and can be many answers! HA!

I say a well taken care of pump like a Reeflo could last many, many years. I think it's a good idea if you are in a place to be able to have a backup that you should.

i agree, a backup is never a bad idea, ever.. but as long as your equipment is taken care of well.. there shouldn't be an issue anytime soon
