ReefMat motorized bypass

I dose phyto and don't want the mat pulling it out. I purchased a PVC ball valve from amazon and set up an apex controlled reefmat bypass.

• Mornings apex closes the valve and turns on the skimmer and UV.
• Noon the pumps run in nutrient export to stir up detritus.
• Early evening the tap opens, skimmer and UV shut off and I dose phyto (working on automating the phyto dose)

Have you had issues with this valve when you turn off the return pump and the level comes up in your sump?

no, it comes up to the bottom of the plastic part. I dont think anything electronic has ever gotten submerged.
