I was given a used sump/refuge i have set up but, I am not sure of the set up and wonder what I should be aware of or if i need to make changes.
I built a couple of pics yes bad but, it shows what I have
The input has a hole in the segment about 2"x3" that is 3" from the bottom of the intake chamber
the next chamber is perpendicular where i put mud and sand for the moment and goes to the bafle to the output
my question is should I need to try and put a baffle into the first chamber to avoid back flow or critters from being in the intake area?
I am not sure what I will put in some live rock and maybe something elase but was looking for some help on that too.
Currently it is cycling and has a sock with some filter filling trying to clear up the fine particles from the mud (yup dumb me dumped it in with water in there) but the 125G skimmer and the pump into the sock is cleaning it up nice so I have an inch of mud and an inch of live sand in the refug part what else do i need and do I need another baffle?
