Hello All my name is Anthony.
I have recently purchased a 65 gallon tank this tank comes with 2 bulkheads at the bottom. I have been learning a lot about reef tank keeping recently. But today I am out on starting a discussion about parts and accessories for this style tank. I would like to start with sand and before I begin with my sand I am in need of a External refugium/sump. Well I have have gone and also got ahold of a 10 Gallon tank and have made it into a refugium. I am willing to continue on posting more details if anyone needs details about this build, Iv gone out to the local superstore and bought acrylic sheets and after a couple hours of deciding partitioning I have layed out the dimensions on the external side of the tanks glass. I believe we all have thousands of possibilities to choose from when it comes to products. I came into a problem when I was glueing together my acrylic sheets. I used a silicon whitch I believed was safe for aquariums. (GE II - Contains mold inhibitor) but anyways. I'm currently sitting at the stage where I need to choose a pump for a return to the tank .

I would really like to make this tank my tank a nifty tank Id like to join people together to talk about what the believe is correct and steps they do to start their tanks.

If you are using acrylic, you need to glue it together with acrylic glue, not silicone. Silicone does not stick well long term to acrylic.
