Reincarnation of My 30G

I was thinking of doing this since last few days but today I motivated myself to start writing up this build. So I started my first saltwater tank 8 months back and always had problem with regular evils like GHA, cyano etc etc. But I learned a lot from this forum and after reading a lot I felt the urge to start a fresh with my new advanced knowledge.

So, I decided that I will run a Zeovit hybrid system (somehow I am still not convince about the ULNS) so keeping nutrient level a bit higher.

I started from scratch. I also did some rock work which I learned from here.

I started making different types but was not sure of anyone of them.

I finally liked this one.

My tank setup is relatively small. The stand is supports the 30G tank well so I continued with it.

But I there is always a possibility of rust on these kind of metal stands so I put a layer of this black Technoflex all purpose rubber anti skid mat over my stand to escape saltwater rust.

Meanwhile my in tank inhabitants were staying in a hotel room.....

Then started the cycling process......

It was painful to see it but with Zeovit it was fast enough.

So thought to add some detail of the system. I always feel lazy whenever its time to write down the tank progress so this time I decided to be slow but steady.

So, was reading a lot of lighting debate over LED vs. T5.....I was using earlier a chinese black box or MARS aqua. The growth was good even in some SPS but I like to experiment so got to Hydra 26 from a guy and put them over tank. But I was really ummm not that happy and wish to experiment more. So decided to build an ultimate combination of LED and T5 (ATI parts). So ordered ATI dimmable ballast, couple of retro kit and ATI bulbs.

Now it was time to connect the whole thing up....after a lot of planning I decided to fit the lights like this...

So I chose Actinic and Purple plus right now and the look was awesome. So this fixture has the one of the best power of LED from AI Hydra and T5 light from ATI......I made it dimmable so I can control it through VDM of my apex. I am currently keeping a close eye on the corals for growth and health and they really look nice. I will post of all lights on over my tank tomorrow.
