i’m gonna start setting up my 24g reef casa tank soon but i’m looking for a sturdy stand/cabinet to put it on. the tank is 22x20 but the stand that reef casa sells is $400 CAD and they just increased the price.

i wanted to try making my own stand but my dad says it would be cheaper and less time consuming and to just to buy one. i’ve looked for stands on amazon but i don’t rlly trust the sturdiness of them based on how they look and i the dimensions of my tank wouldn’t even fit on those stands. i have old furniture but given how old they are i don’t think they were made to withstand the weight of an aquarium + all the rocks and sand.

do you guys have any recommendations? for reference i am in canada

Look at IKEA
i looked but their website said their cabinets/stands are not made to hold the weight of aquariums

i also think they use particle board instead of solid wood
