Hi everyone, my RTB just split a few days and I want to get one of them of two out of the tank to give to a friend. It's latched on to the rock work already. Does anyone have a save way to remove them? I've tried blowing water on it to make it move ...no luck. Thanks in advance for the advice.

Cut the rock

You could point a powerhead at it for a day and see if that makes it move. Other option, you could take one of those clay pots people use for breeding clown (or something similar like a large piece of pvc) and put that over it. The nem will climb up the inside of the pot to reach the small hole for light.

Thank you, that's a great idea! Assuming I just need to rinse the pot well w/RO water before hand.

Use 2" pvc and a new clean sponge. Cut a hole in the sponge for the PVC. Get the anenome to retract and Attach the sponge to the rock over the nem. It will climb the PVC to the opening. Once out of the tank, hang it and it will detach from the tube.

Sand the ends of the PVC very smooth. Don't want anything for them to get cut on.

Yep! Just let them soak in some ro for like 10 mins or so (just to make sure they get a good rinse). Hope all goes well, my BTAs are always a pain to get to move too XD

Massage it’s foot where it’s secured to the rock .
it will slowly release .
a power head will
Sometimes work the irritate it enough to make it release
