Removing Live Rock

Hey guys,
I feel that my biocube just has too much live rock and not enough sand bed space and I was thinking about removing some (not all). I've always been more drawn to the minimalist look. Any ideas on if this a no go for the reef or okay?

yes it is ok because there is still bacteria in the tank
