Hello! I was wondering if anyone had ever pulled the stock overflows off a 120 gallon tank? My thinking is if I pulled the acrylic boxes off and siliconed a sheet of glass over the holes or use some bulk heads with plugs I could drill the back for the tank for a shadow overflow. Is this a good or bad idea?

I just removed the stock overflows from a 180 today . A little careful cutting and out they came, I dremeled the bottom and used braided fishing line to cut the vertical silicone seams . Pulled the overflows and removed the remaining left over bottom peices. The stock silicone tank seals never get touched . All cleaned up and you would never know they were there after a good razor balding and cleaning . Planning a modular marine 1800GPH low profile external overflow set up as a penisula. All in all took me around 1 1/2 hrs . Good luck
