Rescue fish! ID (finally)

Had this dude several months now. This is the first time Ive been able to get a good picture for an ID. I think its an adult blue velvet damsel? Looks like a cichlid! anyway his name is Spike and he is actually really chill despite being a huge damsel

Yeah he is funny cause he is so dark that when he is in his cave all you see are his teeth
