Return Pump Speed

Hi
I have an innovative marine 150 lagoon, with the sump and Might Jet XL. I currently run the pump at 60%, I want to increase flow but concerned about the life and function of the pump. What percent is everyone running their pumps at? The tank has been running about 11 months now, it is a mixed reef with tangs, clowns, fire fish, damsels and anemones.

Do you have wavemakeers in the tank? If so, those are your real flow makers.

My return pump only provides 1.5x sump to dt turnover

Do you keep a second "emergency" pump in a drawer somewhere?

If not, you should. I know it's not sexy to buy a 2nd pump for a back up compared to a new coral, it is worth the " insurance".

If you do have one, crank the pump, no harm no foul, see how you like it.

I run 2x jebaos dcw 8000 at fully opened, one is 4 years old. The pump you shared is very similar to a jebao and likely uses many of the same parts.
