Return pump?

You think a short piece of flexible pvc will have the same effect? Cause I have lots of it and it works with the pvc fittings and cement.
Possibly. The "soft silicone tubing" is very, very soft. No way to transmit any vibration. It's almost like a wet noddle.

With the new, extra quiet dc pumps all the tricks we used to use keeping pumps from rattling on sump bottoms and transferring pump noise into sumps aren't really needed.
I've used several different dc pumps that were hard plumbed all the way and they were very, very quiet, including a VarioS pump.
I suppose it couldn't hurt, but I wouldn't go to any extra effort to do so.

Reef Octopus varios 2. Plenty of power. I use one on my 90 gallon to push up from my sump. Very quiet. Zero vibration. Customer service and parts if you need it unlike some pumps that are around. Cheers!

Thank you for the recommendation I couldn’t be happier with my pump. Unbelievable quite.
