What is the rule about reusing an 8x8x4” marine pure block that I put into a quarantine tank to treat ich with hyposalinity? If fish show no signs of disease after the treatment for 4 weeks and a return to normal salinity for several more weeks, can I put the block back into the sump in DT? Any ideas?

If I understand correctly, your fish had actual 'Ich', you weren't doing a quarantine. You 'treated' the ich with hypo salinity?

If so - I would not put the block in your DT, and my experience would be that your fish could still be infected - or there could be dormant CI on the block. (Hyposalinity isn't usually considered a 'treatment' for Ich. Generally its best not to put anything into your DT from a QT tank (except what you're QT'ing/treating).

If you were observation QT'ing (and the fish were not infected), it would probably by 'safest' not to add the block to your DT anyway, but I'm sure some will say it should be fine. Hope this helps
