I love the clean look of your tank. I am setting up a 250 myself right now and almost done with the aquascape. Did you use any rock adhesive in your design? I am making some arches using JB water weld. Hoping it will hold my rocks in place! Thanks for sharing!

@Badvegas do you or will you have a build thread for your Reefer 250? If so could you post a link to it here? I have a Reefer 250 too. They’re awesome tanks. How do you like the JB water weld? I will use these acrylic rods from Amazon for my aquascape and maybe Marco E 400 cement.

Yes I have a build thread going. There is a tab/link in my profile. ( I am very new to this and I don’t know how to add a link here.)So far the water weld seems pretty strong. I will update after I’ve had it in the water for a couple weeks. I will add a pic of my final aquascape to my thread. Thanks for the info.

@Badvegas my bad. I know about the built-in links to those build thread badges, I just didn’t see yours.

Thanks @Badvegas , I got alot of the inspiration from the build threads on this forum. I checked out your build thread, love the aquascape!

For the adhesive I used the Tunze 2 part coral gum, love this stuff! looks great and has a nice purple look (doesnt blend in to well to the real reef rock but think its better than some of the grey or white color some of the 2 parts come in).

Looking back i wish i would have done more to secure my rock work using acrylic rods, I have a sand sifting goby who is digging all types of tunnels under the rock work and its always a fear of mine now that the rocks will become unstable and fall.

*Update*

Had a few ups and downs over the past few weeks, I took full advantage of the amount of incredible live sales throughout august and quickly started filling up the tank with some insane frags. I also added a BTA who was doing great but has since hasn’t looked great(I’m thinking PH issues due to new tank) but one of my clowns has started to host with it which is incredible.

I went through an algae/bacteria bloom 3 weeks ago and had to purchase a UV sterilizer which cleared it up in about 36 hours.

My golf ball size Chaeto ball has grown to about the size of a football now(have to harvest it soon, Nitrates are undetectable currently and phosphate around .04.

With all the new frags I bought I needed a frag rack and could not get one fast enough (shipping times are long waits due to COVID) so I ended up just quickly building one with some pvc and egg crate, looks awesome but I think I may have placed some of the ACANs to close to some other frags.

My new big hurdle is that I just got a new apartment and moving this tank is going to suck! Lol I’m still trying to figure out the logistics of doing so the move and will most likely leave the tank behind for a few weeks until I figure it out.

The other issue I am currently running in to is my Goby is constantly knocking over my torches and sifting sand around them and knocks everything over almost nightly. I’m not placing/ gluing anything until the move is over so its a constant battle over moving sand and frags around because of him.

Enjoy some pics of the updates!!

Haven’t updated in a long while, figured I would throw some pics up of the tank and some of the corals. Everything is growing really well, lost some fish and bought a few more.

A few months ago my nitrates were still bottomed out at 0 and i could not get them to raise, Zola’s were not doing well as they like dirty water so I started to dose fish of hex nitrate and within a few days I had 5ppm, i now dose it every few days to keep up with that 5ppm.

A few weeks ago some of the corals started to look really bad, tested everything and could not figure out what it was, ICP test didnt show anything to crazy except my iron was high(still haven’t figured this out) But my phosphate was running at .11 so i decided to take a chance and lower it, its running at .05 ish now and the tank looks great again.

Other than those few incidents everything has been going great, the way the sump is set up is perfect and have no complaints about space.
