Yup . With the majority of algae gone now I can finally mount frags onto the rock and get em off the sand bed. Thank you!

That's something I haven't ran into yet thankfully. Knock on wood . I most certainly have been nervous about it based on everything that I've read. Desperate measures for sure .

Well I have my first couple of patches of cyano with vibrant dosing . All of the turf and hair algea I had is gone. My new refugium light is growing my caulerpa like crazy. My mangrove is now showing growth again . I wonder if I should cut the dosing
Having read through (most of) the big Vibrant thread, and heard about all of the folks reporting cyanobacteria, and . . .
With the general consideration that in most cases, the less unknown chemistry and biology I dump into my reef, and . . .
With the visible manifestation of nuisance algaes (Bryopsis, hair, turf, Bryopsis... Did I mention Bryopsis?) in my own tank having been reduced to just about zero . . .
I've decided to cut my dosing of Vibrant from 2x/week to 1x/week, and if things continue to go well (and my Chaetomorpha doesn't resume growing nicely), will consider going to an every-other-week dosing schedule.
Your tank is looking pretty sweet!

I ended up cutting my weekly dosage in half vs biweekly. I just feel it's a little more consistent. Yesterday was day one for me of cutting back to a half dose. Almost ALL pest algae is gone, just a fw patches of cyano and a tiny (unconcerning) amount of bubble algae.

The reduced dosing does seem like a great idea for maintenance . I'm glad something with the vibrant clicked and my algea is gone. I feel like I got a leg up and now i can utilyze weekly water changes, skim , run refugium etc

Wow in two weeks since switching from a 60w Phillips daylight led light from Home Depot to this par38 I had an explosion of grape caulerpa and my mangrove is sprouting a new set of leaves!! I switched to the Phillips 60w from an overkill wifi controlled led and my mangrove stopped growing and almost all of my grape caulerpa had died. But now I'm back on track to nutrient export. I had trimmed back out of fear that some caulerpa on the bottom would be blocked from light from new caulerpa. Also in a coral trade a local reefer through in some dragon breath so I had to make room.

Dosed chemi clean last night for cyano. Added air stone in DT and took cup off of skimmer. I hope for the best with livestock when I get home from work today .

Happy to say all cyano is gone thanks to chemiclean. After vibrant dosing and chemiclean treatment I hope to be done with chemicals for a good while. For now fingers crossed no hair algea in DT in the future. Plan is to continue to skim and run a healthy refugium with caulerpa on 24/7 lighting. Water change schedule is 12 gallons every 3 weeks. A happy time for my 40B :)

I had a armor of God paly and a torch coral growing into each other and the paly decided to fight back! I have since moved the palys
