I have had mine for over 2 years now and it has slowly shrank. It's still sticky and eats but it has gotten smaller. I have recently made a much higher spot for it in the tank to give it more light! I am assuming this is why it has shrank.

I've had mine a 1 1/2 and its doubled in size. It's been placed everywhere in my tank from the sand bed to a rock pillar almost out of the water. Its happy and growing no matter where its at and it doesn't move on its own. I would think that if yours shrinking was due to a lighting issue it would have moved on its own by now or bleached out.
