Ro/di water

Hello so I'm about to do my first water change with ro/di water and i like didn't put two and two together, the waters freezing, and I have no idea how to make it the correct temperature without having to boil it. Can I put a heater in a plastic 5 gallon bucket??

Yes, drop a heater in the bucket.

Or add a bit at a time so it doesn't drop your heat.
Assuming you have a sump.

just make sure it doesn't touch the plastic jug/bucket.....no one likes holes.....

yes you can put a heater in it

Yeah put a heater in it. You don’t wanna shock your fish or inverts with colder water.

HAHA I wish I had a sump, just started like 3 years ago and my tank was only 13 gallons at the time (went up to 20 now) and I'm struggling with this one, it's all the same things in it. But with no more coral. I honestly don't feel as if my tank is ready for coral

Side note, my coral was gsp and it TOOK over my tank so I gave it away and now I'm back at square 1 unfortunately and I'm trying to do this the right way, but honestly, the right way is causing me more issues than how I kind of did it in a sense

Well, you've chosen a small tank to manage. Once you get this down you'll be able to do anything. Larger tanks are FAR easier to take care of (well, stability-wise anyway!).

I think small is easier. I did well for those 3 years. But now I'm back to square one and struggling

Just did a water change two days ago. I mix my salt water, and then have a heater going in the bucket to heat it up to my tanks temperature. (I use a 5 gallon bucket as well)
