I have one in the back of a BioCube in one of my office tanks. For $50 I don’t think you can do better. I did add an air silencer which helped a lot with noise.

awesome. good to hear because i feel like nano skimmers seem to be somewhat sketchy. i have a a 2.5x4.5 compartment. it seems like its cutting it very close size wise, do you think it will fit? also, what do you mean by air silencer?

What chamber are you running the ns80 in? And is it working good?

The middle chamber. It doesn’t work as will as the tunze 9001 but for the price it is hard to beat.

Did you swap out for the intank media chamber? We currently run our ns80 in the first chamber and are thinking about moving it to the middle chamber and rearranging our chaeto... we were told the skimmer works perfectly in the 1st chamber... we are yet to see it be perfectly working

I don’t think the placement would affect performance. What issues are you experiencing?

The micro bubble issue we had worked itself out. But I keep feeling like the water level is too high. The plug can’t be on the collection cup due to the fact the cup will overflow. It’s been running for 2 months and I’m still waiting for it to get “dirty” so I can try to get some skimmate

Nano skimmers always skim light. Raising the skimmer was the only way I could get a darker skin. I cleaned the skimmer this morning but I will take a picture soon to show you what it collects.
