Hey, Fellow Reefers. I had a question. I was looking at the water cases in my garage and I found that we had a case of water that was Filtered by Reverse Osmosis. But, it says that it has "flavor enhancing minerals". Can this be used to mix Saltwater?

Friend, I drink the same bottled water from my local Mega-Lo-Mart, and no, that's not for reefing. The extra minerals and things they add would indeed be good for corals, but you have no control over how much and what's being added.

You can skip the RODI filter and buy distilled water from the same store or any grocery store or pharmacy. Use this purified water for mixing new salt water and for topping up evaporated freshwater:

Good luck!
