Hello,
I have had 3 rock flower anemone’s over 6 months. Each of them settled in on a rock, then detached, floated around for a few days (I knew it was in trouble), deflated, and died a few days after.

My tank is over a year and a half old. I was told that it could be due to my ricordea shroom having chemical warfare, but I always place it on the other side of the tank and have never seen them touch. I was also told to run carbon, which I always have.

My question is, what could be causing them to do this? I want to get another one but need to identify the problem.

The three pictures are my params when the nems died.

Here is a picture of one of my RFA’s surrounded by ricordea’s, it’s not the ricordia and I don’t see anything in your parameters.

Could something be picking at it?

. Even with plenty of experience, extended antibiotic treatments, and so on, the RFAs from Brazil, Belize, Haiti, DR, basically anywhere but the Keys, have a bleak outlook long term.

Very interesting , they are one of the hardiest anemones I have found , so something is up I would try to get one from a local reefer if possible or aqua cultured - what is your stocking?

Thanks for all of your replies. I have a starry Blenny, clown, red fin wrasse, yellow corris wrasse, 3 Duncan’s, torch, frog spawn, frammer, and clean up crew is snails and hermits.

They never looked like they were being picked at. They all seemed happy for 1-3 weeks and then detached and went down hill.

Two were from Florida and another was from a LFS that said they have a local supplier that breeds them.

It could be something bacterial but not sure. I started looking for antibiotics but it was impossible to find without a prescription.

I don’t know that antibiotics would solve the problem, but Dr Reef sells various fish antibiotics.

Hey this is happening to me too, I've gotten 5 rock flower anemones and they've all died in the exact same way. It's not parameters, it's where they were collected from.

I made a post similar to yours and it blew up with responses from people reporting the same thing. If you really want rock flower anemones, it seems you can only get them from florida.

People swear by @coralmonsters.judy
