Rock work construction

Anyone know where to get those acrylic rods for aquascaping? Is there another recommended method you guys/gals have used (puddy, etc...)? I know PVC would work but that's a heck of a hole...what's the smallest size if PVC is a recommendation!

I used CPVC with no issues. 1/2" drill bit goes through the rock like butter. A regular but worked better for me than a spade bit because it was less destructive to the rock.
