Ok. So we have a finished basement which houses my in-wall display tank at one end, has a large 7'x4' shallow system at the other end, and is about to double as a play space/hangout area for my soon-to-be 2-yr old little girl, myself, and my wife.

Floor is a neutral ceramic tile with electric heat coils underneath which we installed when we bought the house. We have recently re-finished one wall and half of an adjacent wall which is split in half by a built-in shelf/ledge. We want to paint the basement the same light gray color as the rest of our house except for the two fresh walls. The question is...what color?! Something bright and modern, as the rest of our house has a pretty modern vibe. My choice is a bold orange, but my wife doesn't seem to think that's the best choice for a toddler girl's play area. My argument is that it is my fish zone! :p

So - what would you do?!

I think it's great for a toddler girl's play area! If she's looking for pink, orange paint with pink accessories is very cute. Pink table/chairs, pink rug, pink playhouse, pink barbie jeep, pink lamp, pink zoas..... :-)

Maybe a shade of purple? Good luck with your choice I'm sure it will work out!

Purple happens to be my wife's favorite color. The kitchen of our first house was purple!
