I have a Bill Murray acropora frag that has started peeling over the last day from the base. You can see in the attached pictures that it’s mainly on the right portion of the frag. The left seems fine. All other coral/fish in the tank are good. No swings in parameters. Any help/suggestions?

Temp: 78
Salinity: 35
PH: 8.0-8.1
Nitrate: 6
Phosphate: 0.1
Cal: 460
Mg: 1400
Alk: 8.5

your phosphates are just the slightest bit high (ideal is 0.03-0.08) but I that shouldn't be enough to cause necrosis.
how long have you had it?
par?
flow?

PAR is 300ish at max and it’s a 12 hour cycle with 4 hours max PAR.
It’s been in the tank for about 3 months.
I have two gyres on opposite side of the tank providing random flow patterns.

would you say the flow is high? any pests like red bugs or flatworms possibly?

I would say it’s turbulent but not blasting it. It’s Red Sea wavemaker and they are both set to 50%.
I don’t see any pests. The strange thing is the left frag of the Bill Murray is fine but the right one is affected mainly from the base.
All other acropora in the tank are looking good.

Well this has officially stumped me, I really don’t know anything else that could have gone wrong, best of luck!

Update: it seems to have stopped spreading. No idea what caused it. Parameters still the same.
