I’m posting here because I have seen posts similar but not quite with an answer to my particular issue.

I have a a unique setup that requires a very large mechanical float valve to control water coming into this tank as it is an island frag tank plumbed into my main system. Main system is 800 gallons.

Ive just noticed a decent amount of rust on the arm of the valve. Is there a coating that anyone knows of that I could paint the arm with to keep it from rusting?

it’s not really an option to remove it as it keeps the water level perfect in this tank.

See picture attached.

thanks so much!

There are threaded nylon rods you could replace the stainless steal rod with if its possible with your set up.
